my mom and dad told me that they found my videos that i was doing on youtube, and they told me that i was an apostate.
they said that they would help me if it was an emergency, but other then that, they didnt want anything to do with me.

What is the stupidest comment you ever heard at a meeting?
by 3rdgen ina very reliable friend told me this: the bro was commenting on what was "unacceptable" conduct in the bedroom between married persons.
needless to say, he had everyone's attention.
he went on to say "we must avoid perversions such as oral and annual sex.

What initial did make you have doubts about the "truth"? Was it apostasy?
by Joey Jo-Jo inthis question is different from what made you leave.. as for me, i wanted to take one step further, to be more involved in the organization, but i had some very old small doubts, about other religions, so i started my liberal study on religion, i read books from other churchs to reffute them, but in fact created more doubts about the org..

Are you sure leaving the JW religion has made your life better?. Lurkers think twice
by mankkeli inon this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.
for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.
what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.

mankkeli wrote: The fact still remains, many of you are better off remainning than leaving, just think about it. leaving doesnt bring any assurance to you, does it?, it rather send you back to the miseries of life without weapon to cope against the war waged by life's adversities.
First I am very happy that i have left because I am no longer part of babylon the great, second I am happy that I left because I longer worry about the blood doctrine or have to shun people, and I am free from conditional love and standards impossible to comply by. I am very happy the way I am now, I dont smoke, live a healthy life style and all the depression, fear, guilt and the strong sense of judgement I had as a witnesse has gone away. Also I have the freedom to research on whatever religion I wish, thats something you are not encouraged to do as a witnesse.
And you speak of leaving like people decided to leave like they had a choice, a lot are kicked out for speaking whats in their conscience.

Paul's Out-Of-Body Experience - How did we Miss This?
by wordfamine.com inthe watchtower teaches that there is no such thing as a spirit or soul leaving the body that can consciously experience anything in heaven unless you are annointed and you die.
and the body certainly couldn't go in their view.
however the apostle paul plainly taught otherwise.

Inactive, yet shunned!
by TimothyT inmy dad (49) (who was an elder for 10 year and hasnt been to the meetings now since april when i stopped going) sent a message to a younger unbaptised brother (19) in my congregation to see if they would like to get together and jam on their guitars.
the younger brother responded that he would like to but since my dad hasnt been to the meetings in a long time he feels its innapropriate.. needless to say my dad was a little pi**ed but at the same time he cant understand how he is also now being shunned despite the fact that he isnt even disfellowshipped.
why do these people show such conditional love when jesus taught the absolute opposite?.

I have a family member who still believes in the "truth" but is shunned by his sister and parents for being inactive.
I am being somewhat shunned, I was never baptised and never registered for kingdom school but I was a beliver for 27 years, but thanks to the elders manual which I accidently chain emailed to the "brothers" and "sisters" including an elder.

Weird things JWs can't own or wear
by lilbluekitty inalso posted on the yuku forum.. i thought it might be amusing to make a list of things i remember when i was a dub that we couldn't have or own or wear.
(some of these things vary by where you live, in other places dubs have them, it just depends).
obviously the list goes on forever, but feel free to add things.

Best answer to "What prevents you from getting baptized?"
by venusinfauxfurs inthe nosy elder at the congregation i attend until i can get out very soon (just quickly: born in, was headed towards unbaptized pub but changed my mind about that and baptism) pulled me aside and showed me the scripture about coming across the body of water and asking "what prevents me from getting baptized" and i really want a quick, preferably smart-ass reply the next time he puts me on the spot like that.. .

I always suffered from social anxiety, believed in it but never progressed spiritually, it was a genuine concern of mine at the time, I had spoken to elders to see if there is some way around it to become a non-baptised publisher, there wasn't.
EDIT: Didn't read the rest of your post, say"my heart tells me I'am not ready" lol
